Problem

St. Johns County had an all-too-common predicament on their hands—they had to realign their goals and operations to accommodate the growing population in the area. Exercising our ability to adapt and apply tried and true methods to keep things running smoothly, Brooks stepped in to offer a solution for their changing needs. Given the wide variety of conditions that patients were dealing with in the health facility, Brooks had to find a solution for individualized comfort while reducing total energy consumption and lowering maintenance costs.

Solution

The Daikin Applied Magnitude magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller was chosen by the design team to be part of a high-efficiency HVAC system. Our control retrofitting process offers complete control over the temperature and energy output of a facility—the Alerton Energy Management System provided St. Johns with the ability to consistently surveillance of their system for any errors and to maintain consistency. Daikin Applied Vision air handlers were also selected, as well as ABB variable frequency drives. The chosen equipment provided St. Johns the flexibility to accommodate their rapidly growing population in a unique, reasonable solution that fit their budget and specific client base.
